What data we process and why

When you fill in the contact form we process your name, email, phone number and what you tell us about your wedding (date, place and what interests you). The legal basis is handling the pre-contractual relationship you yourself ask for, article 6.1.b of the GDPR: you asked us for information and replying is part of that. Without that data we cannot do it.

We reply by email, phone or WhatsApp, whichever suits you best. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not send newsletters.

If we do not end up working together we keep your data for twelve months from the last contact and then delete it. If we do work together, it is kept for the duration of the relationship and afterwards for the periods required by law.

Photos and films of couples

The weddings we publish on this site are shown with the couples' permission. If you appear in an image and want it removed, write to us and we will do it without asking for reasons.

Your rights

You may ask for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction or objection to processing, and portability, by writing to info@makerswed.com. We reply within one month.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency: www.aepd.es, C/ Jorge Juan 6, 28001 Madrid.

The controller is outside the European Union

MAKERS Media LLC is incorporated in the United States, so your contact details are also processed there. This is occasional, low-risk processing, with no special categories of data, no profiling and no automated decisions; for that reason we have not appointed a representative in the Union under article 27.2.a of the GDPR. Whatever the country from which we process it, your rights and the route to complain to the Spanish authority are exactly the same.

Who else sees your data

We do not pass data to third parties or use it to build profiles. It is held with email and hosting providers (Hostinger, within the European Economic Area) acting as processors.

Wedding film videos load from YouTube only when you press play; until then YouTube is not contacted. To stop spam, the form temporarily counts submissions per network address for one hour and then deletes that count.

Cookies and measurement

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies and does not measure visits with third-party tools. It only stores essential technical data in your browser (for example, whether you have already seen the intro or prefer the music off), which does not identify you. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
