Finca Solimpar, Leganés:gardens without leaving Madrid
A nearby estate with accommodation and its own kitchen. What changes when nobody has to take to the road.

Solimpar offers real gardens without leaving the Madrid area. It sounds like little until a wedding is organised and its meaning is understood: no guest takes to the road, nobody gets lost and grandmother arrives in twenty minutes.

What changes when the estate is close
An estate an hour from Madrid forces decisions that nobody mentions until too late: who drives back, at what hour half the banquet leaves, how long the party really lasts. At Solimpar that conversation does not exist.
- The party runs longer, and its second hour, when nobody thinks of the camera any more, tends to give the most honest images.
- Returning is possible: if the day dawns cloudy, a nearby estate allows another session without it being an expedition.
And a detail many couples discover late: Solimpar has its own accommodation, valuable for guests from out of town and for the morning after.

The light in Leganés, date by date
The half hour before dusk gives the images that get framed. That window shifts by almost two hours across the season, and the timetable is fixed months ahead.
| Date | Good light begins | Sunset | Light ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 May | 20:47 | 21:26 | 21:45 |
| 15 June | 21:06 | 21:47 | 22:07 |
| 15 July | 21:05 | 21:45 | 22:04 |
| 15 August | 20:37 | 21:14 | 21:32 |
| 15 September | 19:49 | 20:25 | 20:42 |
| 30 September | 19:24 | 20:00 | 20:16 |
Find your date and subtract twenty minutes: that is the hour to be able to slip away from the cocktail. In an urban setting this matters more, not less: the garden is ringed by city and the window of clean light is shorter, so it should not be improvised.

Its own kitchen and rhythm of service
Solimpar cooks on the premises, which means service timings that admit no delay. The prudent course is not to halt the banquet to set anything up: if a portrait is needed, it is made between courses.
If the ceremony is civil: the paperwork behind it
A civil ceremony requires a prior file, opened at the Civil Registry of the home of one of the couple (or with a notary). It is a separate appointment, distinct from the wedding day, attended by both partners with two adult witnesses.
- The birth certificate must have been issued less than a year earlier.
- Residence documents expire three months after issue.
- The wedding can be held at any other Civil Registry, town hall or notary's office, at the couple's choice.
What that procedure does not make clear is whether the ceremony can be officiated at a particular estate. That is a question to put in writing to the estate and to the town council, in good time.
Why being close helps the calendar
Because the file has expiry dates, it is best to set its appointments backwards from the wedding day. An estate twenty minutes from home makes the rest easier: going to see the set-up, adjusting the ceremony time calmly and settling the last formality without taking a whole day off. This is general advice.
Heat in the south of Madrid
AEMET's Getafe station, in the same southern corridor, records an average maximum of 33.2 degrees in July and 27.5 in September; the average July minimum is 18.5. In the zones of the Community of Madrid called "Metropolitana y Henares" and "Sur, Vegas y Oeste", the yellow heat warning is issued at 36 degrees, orange at 39 and red at 42. These are averages and thresholds, not a forecast: they help you know what to expect from your date.
With a garden between buildings, a midsummer cocktail hour calls for continuous shade. Ask the estate which parts of the garden are covered at that hour.
The estate in brief
- Where: Leganés, Madrid.
- What it has: gardens, halls, its own kitchen and accommodation.
