Mallorca, Ibiza and Madrid:few wedding suppliers work in all three

Three markets that barely touch. What this means for those celebrating far from home.

A caterer is hired for the Mallorca wedding and it is assumed the same team can serve the one in Ibiza or Madrid. It is rarely so. A review of the websites of some fifty wedding suppliers across the three places, carried out in September 2026, shows that practically all work in only one of them: three markets that scarcely touch.

Only one supplier, in catering, states in writing coverage of two of the three. The rest appear in no more than one list.

What does cross, and is something else

There is another movement not to be confused with this: some Ibiza suppliers state they work in Formentera, and several in Madrid also serve neighbouring provinces. It is a real movement, but it does not make anyone a supplier for all three places.

What it means for your celebration

If you celebrate in Mallorca but part of the guests come from Madrid, or you are from Ibiza and look for references elsewhere to compare, you will deal with different suppliers in each place, almost certainly. Planning as if a single one could handle everything adds a task the market does not allow. And if it is a photo and film team, how it travels to Madrid.

How to check before signing

  • Ask directly whether the supplier regularly works at your venue's location, not only whether they "can travel".
  • Ask for a recent reference in that same city, not in their home city.
  • If someone says they cover two places, treat it as the exception it is and confirm the coverage in writing.

The data comes from each business's own website and may have changed: confirm it before deciding.

The three places are not alike: the climate, in data

AEMET publishes normal values for its main stations. In July the average maximum is 32.1 degrees at the Retiro (Madrid), 31.2 at Palma airport and 29.7 at Ibiza airport. What changes is the night and the air: the average July minimum is 19.0 in Madrid, 18.3 in Palma and 21.4 in Ibiza, and average relative humidity is 38 % in Madrid, 62 % in Palma and 67 % in Ibiza.

In practice, Madrid is drier; Palma and Ibiza are more humid, and Ibiza has the warmest nights of the three. The gap between the July maximum and minimum is about 13 degrees in Madrid and in Palma, and about 8 in Ibiza. A team used to one of them does not necessarily know the others. It is better to look at the figures for your own date and place than at the impression left by another wedding.

How to plan for guests who travel

  • If part of the party travels from Madrid in summer, keep in mind the DGT's special traffic operations: in 2026 they were 3 to 5 July, 31 July to 2 August, 14 to 16 August and 28 to 31 August.
  • Send the real wedding schedule early enough for them to book transport and accommodation (general advice).
  • Expect some guests to arrive the same day: plan the welcome and the timings accordingly (general advice).

A fact you can check in each place

If a catering or cake supplier says they work at your venue, ask for their health registration number and look it up in AESAN's public search. It is a national register, but regional registers exist too: if they do not appear, ask which one they are in.
