Wedding suppliers in Ibiza:do they cross to Formentera?
On an island, transfer decides. What to ask and how to check that a supplier is still active.

On an island there is one question that no list includes and that weighs heavily: do they cross to Formentera? And its less obvious version: if the celebration is in Ibiza but part of the guests sleep in Formentera, who travels and who does not?
A review of the official websites of fourteen wedding suppliers in Ibiza, made in August 2026, gives a clear picture: four state in writing that they cross, three that they do not, and seven do not mention it.
Why transfer matters
Equipment crosses by boat, which changes timings, cost and the margin for the unexpected. Someone who already works in Formentera has solved what another would have to set up for the first time at your celebration. That a supplier does not mention it does not mean they will not go: it means you must ask, and early. And if you do not have a venue yet, the types of venue in Ibiza. And how guests arrive: getting to Ibiza for a wedding.
What happens at the port
Formentera has no airport; you reach it from Ibiza by boat. According to Baleària, the crossing between the port of Ibiza and La Savina takes about 30 minutes, with departures every 45 minutes during the day and almost thirty daily departures per port in summer. But not every boat takes vehicles: the shipping line itself says that you can travel with a car, motorbike or bicycle on certain vessels. For anyone carrying furniture or equipment in a van, that shapes both the arrival time and the set-up time.
Formentera's vehicle permit
For the 2026 season, the island regulates the entry and circulation of motor vehicles through the Formentera.eco system between 1 June and 30 September: all of them need authorisation, and there are quotas by category. Its official website lists separate categories for commercial distribution transport, industrial vehicles and vehicles of companies based on the island, with reduced rates and outside the general quota. Conditions may change from one year to the next: confirm those for the season of your date.
That raises a practical question: who applies for the authorisation of the vehicles carrying the equipment across, you or the supplier? If it is not settled in writing, it is discovered just when time is short.
And a piece of common sense: if the equipment crosses on the day itself, ask for the boat the supplier has planned and the margin it leaves before the ceremony. A delay at the port shows in the afternoon light.

A map by craft
- Planners: some specialise in Ibiza and state they do not leave it; others publish their portfolio, the nearest thing to a reference without asking for one.
- Catering: from Mediterranean cooking to vegetarian, vegan or kosher menus; if guests have religious or dietary requirements, know it from the start.
- Flowers: from the bouquet to complete decoration, with set-up, furniture and take-down.
- Music: strings for ceremony, cocktail and dinner, or DJ and ambience for the reception.
- Beauty: a stylist who comes to you saves a morning on the road; one who works from a hotel obliges you to move.
- Marquees and furniture: timber and aluminium structures, and hire of tableware, glassware and china.

The figure no one publishes
None of the fourteen shows its wedding fee. Nor were any budget options with their own website found: what looks affordable in search engines usually leads to a directory. This does not prove that no moderate options exist, only that those with a verifiable website address another segment.
Check that they still exist
Several names that appear in directories have closed, their domains no longer respond, or they work on another island or in another city. A directory does not learn of a closure; open each website and confirm.
What to ask in the first reply
- Do you work in Formentera, and what changes in boat, timings and cost?
- Does the price include transport of the equipment to the venue?
- How many celebrations do you take the same weekend?
- Until when can the guest number be adjusted?
- Who sets up, who takes down, and at what hour?
Websites change: confirm each detail directly before deciding.
