Wedding photographer in Mallorca,Ibiza and Madrid

What decides how your day will be remembered is precisely what a portfolio does not show.

Couple face to face under a long veil, backlit

Every photographer shows their best twenty images, and anyone's best twenty are good. What determines the result is what a portfolio does not reveal: how the work is done throughout the day.

A day that does not repeat

There are two ways to photograph a wedding. One is to stop it: arranging the guests, repeating the entrance, asking for smiles. The images turn out correct and the wedding is lost. The other is not to interrupt and to be in the right place before the important moment happens. On what documentary and posed mean, and when it helps to mix them.

We work in the second way. We pause only for the family groups, which must be done swiftly. On parental permission to publish images of children, there is a separate guide.

Stopping the wedding

Placing the guests, repeating the entrance, asking for smiles. The images come out correct and the wedding is lost.

Not interrupting it

Being in the right place before the important thing happens. Only one pause, for the family groups, which must be done quickly.

One gaze for photographs and film

When photographs and film are made by different teams, both compete for the same privileged spot and hinder one another through the afternoon. With a single team, positions are agreed beforehand rather than argued during; the colour of both pieces is also coherent.

What you keep

A selection of four to five hundred photographs, fully developed in high resolution, without watermark and with printing rights. It is not a trimmed sample: if the moment existed and turned out well, it is yours. Nor is it an unmanageable number: careful choosing is preferred. A private online gallery accompanies it, to share with family. Here, how speeches and the first dance are captured.

The light rules

The timetable decides more than the camera. The couple's portraits call for the last hour of sun, which shifts by about two hours between June and October. The schedule should be settled with the venue knowing that hour.

Wedding photographer in Mallorca, Ibiza and Madrid

Mallorca. Our base is Palma. In mid-June the sun sets in Palma at 21:17 and in mid-October at 19:11, see how the light falls by zone and what changes from one estate to another. For photography and film from one team, read wedding photographer and videographer in Mallorca.

Ibiza. The sun sets there between 19 and 26 minutes earlier than in Madrid, depending on the month, and the coast you choose changes the scene: wedding photographer in Ibiza and when the best light falls.

Madrid. The sun sets in Madrid roughly half an hour later than in Palma, so the timetable is worked out for Madrid: wedding photographer in Madrid from Mallorca and wedding videographer in Madrid.

How we work. We work from Palma and two professionals attend, photography and film, on the same day and with the same colour approach. You write to us through the form, we reply within 24 hours and, after a short design call, the estimate reaches you in writing, without commitment.

Estimate

It is prepared to measure and in writing. It depends on three factors: whether you wish for photographs alone or photographs and film, how many hours are covered, and where it takes place. If the place requires travel, it is presented in writing before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose a wedding photographer if everyone shows great photos?

Choosing is hard precisely because everyone shows the same thing: their best twenty photos, and anyone's best twenty are good. What decides how your wedding photos turn out is what a portfolio doesn't show: whether the photographer stops the wedding to arrange people, or knows the rhythm of the day and is already in place before it happens.

Will the photographer make us pose during the wedding?

No. We only pause for the family groups, which have to be done, and done quickly. The rest is not interrupting: arranging people and asking them to laugh gives correct photos and loses the wedding. On family photos: how to organise them without losing the cocktail.

How many photos are delivered from a wedding?

The number of edited photographs depends on how long the day is and on the style of work: the sensible thing is to ask what is delivered, in what format and within what time, and to have it in writing. All in high resolution, with no watermark and with the right to print whatever you like.

Why is it better for the same team to do photo and video?

Because photo and video compete for the same spot, the best one to see what's happening. Two teams that don't know each other get in each other's way all afternoon, and it shows in both deliveries. When the same team does it, positions are shared out beforehand and not argued over during.

What time is best for the couple's portrait session?

With the last light of the afternoon, the hour before sunset. It's an important point and we have a key role in it: we advise and guide the couple, the planner or the venue so the schedule works in your favour. In Palma the sun sets at 21:17 on 15 June. That's why it's best to settle the schedule well ahead, and we help you decide it. On that part of the day: couple portraits at a wedding: how long and where.

Do you work as a wedding photographer in Mallorca, Ibiza and Madrid?

Yes. Usually in Mallorca, Ibiza and Madrid, and also across Spain and Europe. Our base is Palma; if the place requires travel, it is presented in writing before you decide.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

We don't publish a rate because the price depends on three things: whether it's photo only or photo and video, how many hours are covered, and where the wedding is. What is fixed is the method: you write to us through the form, we reply within 24 hours and, after a short design call, the quote arrives in writing and with no commitment. What moves the estimate, without numbers: what a wedding photographer costs depends on.

Is it one photographer or two of you?

There are two of us: one person with the photo camera and another with the video camera, on the same day and with the same colour approach loaded into both cameras. That's why the photos and the film of one wedding don't look made by different teams.

What does the wedding video include?

A film of about 20 minutes with the full day (about 10 with half a day) and a trailer of about three. It can be booked with the photography or separately, although it works better with the same team: photo and video fight over the same spot all day.

Is it worth having two videographers?

Very much so: it's where the difference in video quality shows most. With two videographers there are two angles at once (ceremony, reactions, the couple and family), no moment is missed and the sound is better covered. The second videographer is added to the proposal.

Can I ask for the original files (the master) of the photos or the video?

Yes, you can ask for them, at an additional cost. Please note the video originals look flat and greyish, with little colour, because the colour is worked on afterwards, just like the photos. That's why the final result looks much better than the original.

Do we have to have a meeting before asking for a quote?

Not to ask for one: the form is enough, and asking for a quote commits you to nothing. With the date, the place and whether you want photo, video or both, we reply within 24 hours and arrange a short design call, about design and not cameras, before we talk about price. If you haven't settled on a venue yet, the area is enough.

How are travel and VAT handled?

It depends on the place. Travel is set out in writing in your proposal before signing, and each proposal states in writing whether the amount includes VAT.

Do you also do a pre-wedding session?

Yes. It's the way to get used to the camera before the day that can't be repeated, and it's best done at the last hour of sun, the same light the wedding is worked in. How we do pre-wedding sessions in Madrid.

What should I ask a wedding photographer before hiring one in Mallorca?

How many people attend, whether they have worked together, who sets the colour for photographs and film, where they travel from and how they get to the estate, what they would do if it rains, and what deadline applies to each delivery, in writing. The eight questions, in full: eight questions before choosing a photographer.
