Wedding photographer and videographer in Mallorcaby one team

One gaze for photographs and film, one team on the island and one schedule.

A videographer films with a camera on a tripod on a tree-lined promenade, under a blue sky

Anyone looking for a wedding photographer and videographer in Mallorca ends up facing the same doubt: hire the person who photographs and the person who films separately, or trust both to a single team. On an island the answer weighs more than in a city, because every professional you add is one more journey, one more schedule and one more conversation.

What «one team» means

It is not the same as «two professionals who join up for your wedding». One team is one that always works together: it shares the space without discussing it, reads the light the same way and delivers both pieces with the same colour. Photographs and film are two readings of the same day; if made by hands that do not know each other, the result is two different versions of one wedding.

Nor is it the same as a single person who «does both». That is not two coordinated gazes but one person alternating cameras, and there are moments, such as the entrance or the first kiss, when they can only be with one of them.

What changes on the island with one team

In Mallorca the estates are rarely round the corner: there is almost always a journey from Palma or from the hotel, and sometimes a narrow approach or a dirt track. With one team that journey is made once, and whoever arrives already knows where to park, where the equipment goes in and where the couple get ready. With two suppliers, the preliminary visits, the access arrangements and the questions to the estate multiply.

  • One schedule. The estate, the caterer and the music receive a single sheet of times, not two that do not match. What to put on that sheet: wedding film moments.
  • One way of sharing the space. At the ceremony there is one good angle for each moment; one team decides who takes it and who stands behind, without asking the couple.
  • One conversation. If the cocktail hour moves or it rains, one person is told, not two.

The light adds one more reason. In mid-June the sun sets in Palma at 21:17; in mid-October, at 19:11. That hour fixes when the best light of the day falls, which tends to coincide with the cocktail hour, when guests claim the couple; it is best decided in the timetable and not on the spot. With one team, the sunset portrait is made once, and photographs and film capture it from the same scene in the same minute. With two, that half hour is shared out or fought over. And speeches and the first dance: what to tell whoever films.

One gaze: colour, rhythm and framing

The island has very different light depending on the area, as the guide to areas and light explains: the mountains that bring the sunset forward, the open interior, the pale stone of the houses that returns the sun and warms every portrait. Whoever reads that light for the photographs should be whoever reads it for the film. Otherwise the stills come out warm and the video cold, and the wedding does not look like the same one.

A single gaze is also a matter of rhythm. Whoever films and whoever photographs on the same day understand when it is best to do nothing: a silence, a look between relatives. That is not agreed in an email; it is acquired by working together. And how children come across in the film.

Delivery times: photographs first, film after

With a single team, delivery tends to follow this order: an early preview, the photographs next and the film last. The film runs on another track, because the edit takes longer, and almost nobody commits to a date in writing. Ask for the times separately, for images and for film; here we explain how to read them. Among the added pieces is the drone, if the venue and the rules allow it. What the trailer is and what the film is, and what to ask about the music: trailer and film.

A different model exists, with separate teams for shooting and editing, which shortens deliveries. It is a reasonable trade. Our choice is another: to give both pieces their colour with one hand, even if the edit is not the quickest. What matters is that you are told clearly which model you are being offered.

When to separate them

  • If you already have someone whose work you love and who does not film: affinity outweighs technical coherence.
  • If each piece goes somewhere different, for instance a festival and an album. If you want album and film designed together, there is a separate guide.
  • If whoever «does both» is a single person: there are not two gazes, but one alternating cameras.

Questions to compare teams

Few suppliers answer these on their website, so it is worth putting them in writing before deciding. The first three work for any wedding; the rest matter more on an island.

  • How many people attend, and who does what? Photographs and film with one person is not the same as with two.
  • Have they worked together before? Two professionals joining for one wedding are not a team.
  • Who gives colour to both pieces? If two hands, the colour will not match.
  • Where does the team travel from and how do they get to the estate? A legitimate question, not an accusation. How a team travels when the wedding is in Madrid: the guide.
  • Have they already worked in that area or at a similar estate, and what would they do if it rains?
  • What delivery time applies to the images and which to the film, in writing?
  • What happens if one member of the team cannot attend that day?

If you want more questions, these are the eight we would ask before choosing who photographs your wedding, and the guide to suppliers on the island explains why logistics weigh more here.

If the ceremony is religious

Each parish sets its own rules for those who photograph and film inside the church, and they are not all the same: some ask you to introduce yourself to the priest, others limit the number of people. Ask yours, before hiring, what it requires, and pass it on in writing to whoever sends you a proposal. With a single team one conversation is usually enough; with two suppliers, two. If the ceremony is civil, ask the same question of whoever conducts it.

How we work

We work from Palma. Two professionals attend, photographs and film, on the same day and with the same colour approach. We deliver photographs chosen one by one, a film and a preview. Tell us your date and the place you are considering, and we will reply with a written proposal; the different ways of working are under Services.

If you only want photography, read wedding photographer in Mallorca, Ibiza and Madrid; if the wedding is on another island or in Madrid, wedding photographer and videographer in Ibiza and wedding photographer in Madrid from Mallorca.

Frequently asked questions

Is it better to hire a wedding photographer and videographer in Mallorca as one team?

In most cases, yes. On an island there is one journey, one schedule and one approach to colour, and two professionals avoid getting in each other's way at the moments that never repeat.

Is one team the same as one person who does photo and video?

No. One team is two professionals who always work together. A person who does both alternates cameras and cannot be at both at once.

Do delivery times change if I hire photographs and film from one team?

They tend to be staggered: preview, photographs and, last, the film. Ask for each time in writing and separately.

What should I ask to compare teams?

How many people attend, whether they have worked together, who gives colour to both pieces, where they travel from, whether they know the estate's area and what delivery time applies to each piece.

Can I hire someone I already know for the photographs and another team for the film?

Yes. If you already have someone whose work you love and who does not film, affinity outweighs technical coherence. It helps if both coordinate on schedule and space before the day.

How do I choose a wedding videographer in Mallorca?

Ask in writing how many people attend, who sets the colour and edits the film, what deadline applies to the preview and which to the film, how the sound of the vows and speeches will be recorded and, if you want a drone, who flies it. What is included and how it is filmed: wedding videographer: the wedding film.

Do you also work as wedding photographer and videographer in Ibiza and Madrid?

Yes, usually in Mallorca, Ibiza and Madrid. What changes in each place is in wedding photographer and videographer in Ibiza and in wedding photographer in Madrid from Mallorca.
